The Hat Shop is not just a website. We have a retail outlet located at Mooloolaba on the Sunshine coast of Australia; there you will find real people during business hours. If you can’t find what you’re looking for here, or you just prefer to deal with real people, then come visit us in person.

All of our hats are sourced from quality Milliners, ensuring excellence in our products. Our Retail store’s reputation has been built over the years by providing quality goods. Our return customers know that any product that they buy from us is value for money. Whilst our online store is new, we at The Hat Shop see this as an extension of our retail store and take the same care. We want you to feel just as secure buying online as in our store.

Seasonal Nature of Millinery
The seasonal nature of millinery (hats) is similar to that of clothing. Some hats are not always available year round or need to be made to order due to this seasonal nature. We at The Hat Shop do our very best to stock and source these items year round, but are not always able to provide all items straight away. We do keep our website up to date as much as possible, however on limited occasions, items may be on backorder at time of purchase. Of course if this is the case we will advise you of this before payment. A good hat is like a friend, hard to find and worth waiting for!

Our Prices
Our online stores domestic prices are quoted in Australian Dollars, and are all inclusive of Australian Goods & Services Tax (GST). This 10% tax is removed automatically for all international purchases during the ordering process.

Payment Methods

The online store only excepts payments made in advance before delivery of your goods. This includes payment for Indent orders. Payment can be made via your preferred method. We accept Visa, MasterCard, PayPal or you can direct deposit funds into our account. 

Freight Delivery
All our products are delivered by Regular Australian Post, unless you request other means. Freight prices are calculated on the current Australia Post rate for parcels or boxes depending on hats dimensions (within Australia & Worldwide). Note most hats are boxed so freight charges will reflect this in the postage rate. Boxed weight is difficult to work out, but we are as close to normal rates as possible at the time of purchase. 

You can choose to provide your own delivery service if you wish to use other carriers or we can quote you a price using another service, please add this to the instructions if you would like; we have however found Australia Post to be very reliable.

Please make sure you provide us with a safe delivery address. We can not be held responsible for items that are stolen from insure letter boxes or postal address.

Gift Vouchers.
The Hat Shop offer a range of Gift Vouchers that can be used either online or in-store. You can choose several denominations to make up the amount you would like. The unique gift voucher code will be sent on purchase to either yourself or the recipient via email. It can be redeemed by entering the code in the check box provided during checkout.

Vouchers can only be redeemed once. If you have a leftover amount it will be forfeited. (However if you use only $25 of a $100 voucher you can purchase another voucher for $75 so you do not lose the remaining amount).
Vouchers are valid for 6 months from date of purchase.

Exchanges and Refunds
The Hat Shop will exchange items that you have purchased online or in store if the item happens to be either incorrect size or colour, we would of course ask for a copy your original receipt and tags must be still in place to receive a exchange. (Note if tags have been removed the hat is deemed to have be worn, and no refund can be given).Please specify carefully the new size or colour that you are seeking. We do not refund goods outright, but will be more than happy to give you a store credit. Customers will be liable for any freight costs incurred for returns.

Privacy Policy
At The Hat Shop we guarantee to protect your privacy. We also know how frustrating it is visiting a website then receiving a lifetime of Spam and email. We do not share, sell, lend, or rent any personal or financial information. Any financial information that is collected via the secure encrypted online shopping facility is strictly limited for use in processing of your order.

Your Security
Shopping online at The Hat Shop is fully secure. The Hat Shop uses Encrypted Secure Ecommerce shopping cart software and credit card processing provided by ezimerchant. We will provide you with the same high level of service that you would expect and receive at our retail store.
